The Ultimate Disclaimer

One day while I am browsing the internet I see an add for a site that claims to be able to set you up with your own home business and make a very large amount of money. I did not believe it and still don’t, but I was bored so decided that I would investigate it anyway.

During my search of information I began to read their “terms of sale”, of which made me begin to laugh. A section of text was called “Indemnification”. It went on to read:

“You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless <site>, its advertisers, licensors, subsidiaries and other affiliated companies, and their employees, contractors, officers, agents and directors from all liabilities, claims, and expenses, including attorney’s fees, that arise from your use of this site, or any services, information or products from this site, or any violation of this Agreement. <site> reserves the right; at it own expense, to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, in which event you shall cooperate with <site> in asserting any available defences.”

There is a lot there but please read it all, and then again, until you understand completely what it is actually saying. I laughed out loud for several minuets; I found it so funny that this site, which to me appears to be a scam site, can claim such crazy terms of sale!

Highlights: “including attorney’s fees” AND “in which event you shall cooperate with <site> in asserting any available defences”.
